Every year we choose a charity to support. It is important for us to give back to causes which are close to our hearts. We like to make a difference to small, local charities that directly help people. For 2023 Hector’s House is our main charity.
However, for 2023 we are also supporting Cancer Research UK. Find out why below.
Hector’s House is a suicide prevention and mental health awareness charity that operates in Herts & Bucks. The Stringer family set up the charity in memory of Hector, who took his life aged just 18. Their mission is to prevent suicide and end mental health stigma through education, awareness and support. Children's mental health is at the top of our priority list at Big Green Space and we are so proud to support them.

Education
They give talks to local schools, helping to educate the younger generation about good mental health practices and how to improve their well-being.
Awareness
The charity raises awareness about mental health and suicide prevention through their various social media channels, our website & blog and our work with the community.
Support
They also offer support and signposting to anyone who feels they are at a crisis point with their mental health; ensuring they feel heard, valid and able to access the correct support for them.
There is no criteria for someone to access our help – we are open to all who may be struggling with their mental health during these ever-challenging times.
We decided to support Cancer Research UK to support one of our clients who is fighting their own battle with cancer. The charity has been very supportive to the family throughout their journey and they wanted to give back as much as possible. Watching their strength and determination was so inspiring and we wanted to show our support for this life changing charity.
