Our Approach
Founded in 2013 by experienced event planner Louise Barcock, we pride ourselves on our personal, creative, yet discreet approach. We’re at your side every step of the way, offering expert, unbiased and down-to-earth guidance; and when the day comes and it’s your chance to shine; we’ll melt unobtrusively into the background, quietly making sure everything runs seamlessly.
Nothing is more important to us than creating an event that is perfectly designed just for you. Louise and her team of skilled planners will work collaboratively with you to make sure that every last detail of your day feels just right and is uniquely yours.
Shining behind the scenes
While we love the little gorgeous details and finishing touches, we specialise in logistics – those behind-the-scenes workings and fiddly bits that elevate yours and your guests’ experience from good to exceptional. Marquees and tented structures are our particular favourite, and we’ve honed our ability to take a literal blank canvas and transform it into something beautiful and memorable.
We know what it takes to make the most complex of events look effortless. The bits you cant see are as important as what goes on in front of your guests. Give us a big green space – be it a country estate, a private garden, a manicured venue or open fields – and let us build you a wedding or party experience that’s as flawless behind the scenes as it is stunning.
If you’re looking for a clipboard queen, we are not the planners for you
Our planning style is very organic and based on conversations, trust and flexibility.
We won’t send you colourful spreadsheets full of dates and demands. We certainly won’t be pre-scheduling zoom calls months in advance and sending endless automated reminders about unnecessary deadlines.
What we will do is arrange a convenient time to come and meet with you in the comfort of your own home. We listen. We chat. We bring our ideas, our samples, our props (and sometimes cake!). We get creative. We scribble copious notes. We create to-do-lists. We take them away and we take action. We pull everything together for you and keep you updated and in the loop using our detailed event plan and budget overviews but there will not be a colourful spreadsheet in sight!
We’re flexible
Although we know you have the very best planning experience and the most personal events when we plan them with you from the start, we understand that there are some things you might want to do yourself.
So we can help you at any time during the event planning process. Whether you want help right from the start, you’d like us to cast an experienced eye over your plans as you make the final preparations, or you’re simply looking for on-the-day event management, we’re ready to step in and guide you at any moment.
Hertfordshire and beyond
Big Green Space is based in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, and we regularly plan events across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, The Cotswolds, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hampshire, Berkshire and London. But we’re always happy to travel UK wide. Just let us know your location and we’re happy to hop in the car and come to you.
